About Our Teas

Q1: What’s the difference between First Flush, Second Flush, and Autumn Flush Darjeeling teas?

A: These refer to the different harvest seasons of Darjeeling tea:

– First Flush: Plucked during the spring season, they are light, floral, and delicate with a hint of astringency.

– Second Flush: Plucked during the summer season, they are rich, amber-colored with signature muscatel notes.

– Autumn Flush: Plucked during the autumn season, they are smooth, mellow, and subtly sweet.

Each flush has a distinct character and is best enjoyed on its own to appreciate the unique terroir of Darjeeling.

Q2: Are your teas single-origin?

A: Yes. All our teas are sourced directly from reputed tea gardens in and around Darjeeling. We focus on authenticity and traceability, offering pure, unblended Darjeeling teas.

Q3: Do your teas contain any additives or artificial flavors?

A: No. Our teas are 100% natural with no added flavors, colors, or preservatives. We believe in offering tea in its purest form, as nature intended.

Q4: How should I store Darjeeling tea?

A: Store your tea in an airtight, metal container away from moisture, direct sunlight, and strong odors. A cool, dry pantry is ideal. Avoid storing tea in the fridge or near spices.

Q5: Why is Darjeeling tea more expensive than other teas?

A: Darjeeling tea is grown in limited quantities in a small region of the Himalayas, and is hand-plucked with great care. Its unique climate, seasonal harvests, and complex flavors make it highly sought-after globally. Add to that its Geographical Indication (GI) status and ethical farming practices — and you’re paying for rarity, craftsmanship, and authenticity in every cup.

Brewing & Enjoyment

Q6: How do I brew Darjeeling tea correctly?

A: Use 1 tsp of tea per cup. Pour hot water (85–90°C) over the leaves and steep for 5 minutes.

Avoid over-steeping. Darjeeling teas are best enjoyed without milk or sugar to fully appreciate their natural flavor.

Q7: Can I add milk to Darjeeling tea?

A: Darjeeling tea is traditionally enjoyed without milk. However, some of our Second and autumn Flush varieties may pair well with a splash of milk or a bit of honey — though purists usually prefer it plain.
